Smoke Free NASCAR

1:56 pm

From Bristol Motor Speedway…
In accordance with a new Tennessee state law, all grandstand, terrace, suite, and restroom areas at Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway now are non-smoking.  This became effective October 1, 2007.  The General Assembly of the State of Tennessee passed the “Non-Smoker Protection Act” in May and Governor Phil Bredesen signed it into law in June 2007.  The Act prohibits smoking in most public facilities, including “sports arenas.”  Guests may still smoke in our concourse area, but grandstand, terrace and suite seating areas will be non-smoking.

It looks like Autoracing is following the lead of “stick and ball” venues by prohibiting smoking within BMS facilities.  How does this affect you at the race?  Will you attend knowing you can’t smoke during the race? Does it even matter as long as the Bud and Miller are flowing?
